Seasonal
Halloween costume sewing basics
Plan this project for next season; begin with a wearable base and simple removable details.

When should you plan the costume?
This evergreen checklist is marked for next season, October 2027. Choose the base early, then allow time for fitting and safe movement. This is planning guidance, not a current trend report.
How do you choose a starting point?
Use a garment you own as a base without altering safety equipment. Add removable patches or a fabric sash rather than attempting graded clothing from an unverified drawing. Confirm that details can be washed or removed.
What should you check before wearing it?
Check walking, sitting and vision. Keep long cords and loose fabric out of the way. Do not describe ordinary fabric as protective or flame resistant without the supplier’s evidence. Finish raw edges and secure attachments.
