Fabric

Measure the pieces. See the yardage.

Calculate yardage for rectangular pieces at 44 and 58 inch fabric widths with visible cutting assumptions.

Folded fabrics in warm, soft colours

For rectangles only. Grain stays parallel to the long fabric edge. Enter cut sizes that already include seams. No rotation, nap matching or print repeat is included.

Cut pieces (one row per shape)

How much for two 15 in squares?

At both widths, two pieces fit across: 30 in ≤ 42 / 56 in usable width. One 15 in row + 4 in allowance = 19 in; 19 / 36 yd, rounded up to a quarter yard = 0.75 yd.

How is yardage calculated?

Usable width = nominal width − 2 in for selvedges. Place rectangles left to right in input order, starting a new row when the next piece will not fit. Row length = tallest piece in that row. Sum row lengths, add 4 in handling allowance, divide by 36, and round upward to the next 0.25 yd. It is a simple shelf layout, not an optimal nesting promise. If a piece is too wide, that fabric width is rejected.
