I've made many quilts using my 9600 and have only had a small problem the bobbin thread got bunched up and machine stopped working. I just shut it off and cleaned it out and it was running again. Love this machine. I paid over $500 three years ago. But i would gladly pay that amt. again if i had to.

Love my 9960

It is very user friendly and the price was great for all the extras that this machine will do. Buttonholes are easy and the attachable table is really a plus when I am doing free motion sewing on a small quilt. I highly recommend this machine for general sewing and quilt piecing.

I purchased this machine for my daughter. She is a beginner in the sewing world. I am pleased to say that this machine has enough bells and whistles to allow anyone to be very creative, yet is easy enough to operate that even a beginner can use it without becoming frustrated!! I love my new machine. I thought I would never own another Singer but my daughter got the Singer Quantum 9960 for her birthday and she has such good luck with it, I decided to get one. Am not sorry. It does beautiful work. The needle threader was a little tricky for me at first, but I finally figured it out. Then I was afraid to use the scissors and one of the technicians talked… read more to me and had me use it while he was on the phone with me and now I can't live without it. It seems to know no job that is too tough for it. I only wish Singer made a Straight Stitch Needle Plate for this as I had a problem trying to sew a very light knit polyester. I tried stabilizer and that didn't work for me, so I had to go buy a machine that I could get a straight stitch needle plate for, but the Quantum is my main machine. I just can't believe the machine I got for such a low price. Thanking you Sewing Machines Plus.

9960 Quantum Stylist

Happy Happy Happy I ordered the 9960 on line on Sunday and the UPS truck came on Wed. It was packed well in a gigantic box. Works great especially if you read the manual. Extra large table is great. Have not figured out the auto threader, seems to bump up against the shank? But I know how to thread by hand so no problem. Thank you for the great price and fast service.

Still loving my 9960. It's my go-to machine that stays open and ready while the other two remain in their trolleys (one, also a Singer). The only thing I do not like is the light. It is not bright enough. The machine still earns 5 stars as far I'm concerned. I call it my mystical-magical machine because it does so much. I just wish the light was brighter.

I bought this machine a few years back and although I did had to have warranty service once for bobbin jamming problems, I can't say enough good things about this machine! It makes sewing a pleasure. It's versatile design and extension table makes chain sewing quilting triangles or strips a breeze! Just recently purchased this machine and have been sewing every day since I got it. It is a wonderful machine. I am just learning to quilt and it has been great. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out, is how to space over when I want to insert a new word when I use the ABC decorative stitch. Otherwise, I love it.

Bought this for my daughter (2nd machine in 6 mos). The first machine didn't hold up to her first K sz quilt project. She loves the thread cutter. After practicing on this machine, I liked it. The 9960 is VERY quiet in sewing mode, a little noisy with the thread cutter, but its o.k. It comes with a great quilting package. Very impressive economical sewing machine.

Absolutely the best all around machine I have ever used.

I have had this sewing machine for 3 years. During that time I have made draperies, pillows, quilts, upholstery cushions, dresses, bags, etc and some basic embroidery. I bought this machine a couple of years ago. I needed a good machine for free motion quilting, with a limited budget. Because of so many good reviews, I ordered while the machine was out of stock. I got a call with-in 24 hours from SewingMachinesPlus to let me know what the situation was, and when they expected their shipment. I got another call when the shipment arrived at… read more SMP, and when I could expect my purchase on my doorstep. It arrived sooner than expected and I immediately set it up and started getting familiar. I've used this machine for almost every purpose it has. I keep it set up for free motion quilting most of the time. The foot control is smooth, there are no extra stitches when I stop, and the speed control slider makes it easy o put the speed where I want it for different uses. I plan on buying a second machine, because it's a real workhorse and I've never had a problem I couldn't solve (and usually it's something I did or didn't do). I want another to set up for regular sewing so my FMQ machine is set all the time. Another excellent product from Singer. Great service from SMP. It's become a go-to site for presser fee, bobbins and other extra's I want.
