This machine handles so well! It had been a while since I last had used one, but this machine made it super easy to get right back into the rythm! Love all the different styles and accessories that came with! If you new or old to the sewing world I would deff recommend one!!

Singer 7258 100-Stitch

I do like some features of this sewing machine, but not all. Having problems with bobbin winding and self thread needle. Love push button sewing feature. Like having 100 stitches. My preference is a Brother machine over Singer. Sews smooth and stitches are very good. I would not buy this machine again.

Good machine but hate light bulb

Good machine but I hate the LED light bulb. It is not as bright as the one on my Brother machine and hurts my eyes after awhile. Also they provide NO instructions on how to attach the gathering foot! It's not a snap on like the other feet and I've had no luck with Singer replying to my email for any type of question.

Great machine

I have a lot of machines (I teach disadvantaged kids) and this is by far one of the easiest machines to use. The one review said that they had a problem attaching the gathering foot, it is very easy. Take off the adaptor foot for snap ons and attach this one.

I upgraded to this machine from a 12 year old basic White Sewing machine. It has been a dream! Threading the machine is as easy as 1-2-3, no more getting out the manual to try to remember what to do next. The machine purrrrs along without a hiccup. Selecting stitches is simple with the push buttons and each stitch runs smooth and straight. I love the needle selector button read more for projects where you may want the needle to stay in the down position. The auto tie off straight stitch is absolutely brilliant and makes projects easy to complete. I am so pleased with the machine. My only gripe is that the needle threader could be better, but I'm learning to live with its quirks. This is a great beginners machine, and hey...Martha loves it too!

I purchased this machine after having a Kenmore for 45 years. I love it. It is lightweight, and the finger touch operation makes everything so easy. I also have a Baby Lock Elisimo Gold that I use for embroidery, while that one is humming with a project I move my computer keyboard out of the way and assemble projects on my little Singer. If it were cumbersome I wouldn't be able read more to sew at the drop of a hat. I am having so much fun. I purchased it because of the Consumers Digest Best Buy rating and I am glad that I did. It will travel with me to the lake this summer.

I have been sewing for over 50 years, and I can recommend this machine! If you set each task up EXACTLY as the manual directs, you will have an excellent sewing experience. You cannot set things up as we used to on former machines; you have to do it as the manual says. I also discovered that the machine doesn't need, doesn't like, pins to hold the fabric as you sew. I pin my fabric, read more then let the machine chug along (use the on/off button, not the foot pedal) at slow speed, and you can easily pull out the pins before the needle goes across them. I love the fact that the machine holds the fabric down tight, so I don't have to hunch over to control the fabric like I used to on former machines. I also like the buttonhole maker, which works perfectly if you follow EXACTLY the directions in the manual. It's a new world in sewing machines!

Very nice machine

I bought this model after my 30 year old singer decided to retire. It does a very nice job, but I wish it would have the built in bobbin winder like my old one. I am not a fan of the light, but can live with it. Would definitely recommend.

I gave myself the Singer stylist 7258 for Christmas. The price was great and free shipping, can't beat that. Sewing machine arrived in a timely manner. My favorite feature is pushing the button to sew and not having to use the foot pedal. Also, love that the machine threads itself, had a little trouble figuring it out, but once I did, wow. Upon getting this sewing machine I took read more old jeans and starting making projects. I highly recommend this machine and this company.

Great for new Quilters

Great machine! I'm a new quilter and I purchased the machine based on the "Consumer Digest Best Buy" seal and description of the features. Since I am a beginner, I trusted the reviewers and so far have not been disappointed. I must admit that I have not used all of the features, but I feel that this machine is very easy to use and will meet my needs.

This is the second sewing machine I've owned. It has made sewing a hobby I now enjoy and do to relax. I love quilting and with the Singer 7258 it is easy and fun. I no longer dread when the bobbin runs out. It is easy to redo and then to thread again. The top loading bobbin is a breeze compared to my older machine. The easy to use set up directions make getting started easy. read more It walks you through everything you need to know. The only problem I've had is with the automatic threader. I have also since added a quarter inch foot with a guard. This machine has RENEWED my love for sewing!!

I am a lover of Janome, but when I saw this Singer with 100 decorative stitches for $209.00 I could not resist two for class machines. They were perfect and my students loved them. Strongly considering two more to replace two older machines.

Two happy sisters!

I couldn't be more pleased with my 7258 Singer or the excellent sales and delivery experience. I was so impressed I bought one for my older sister. She was surprised and excited enough to stop using her treadle that was our mother's.

Great Replacement

I love how quiet it is and how smoothly it sews. I replaced a Singer machine from 1965, two years before I graduated from high school, and like me it was showing it's age. I really think I'll have fun with all the stitches.

Great buy for great machine

This machine replaced my Husqvarna, which was a dozen years old. I absolutely love this machine! I do quilting as well as curtains, pillowcases, throw pillows, potholders and find it to be very quiet and user friendly. Really like the needle threader and that it came with an hour long DVD about it as well as an owner's manual. Had bought one for my granddaughter (age 8) and read more decided to buy one for me too!
