This machine is phenomenal, and every sewer should have one. Don't ever think that you will always have electricity, because with all the new warnings of storms and apocalyptic weather, chances are very good that you will be without electricity at some point in your life.I have TWO of these machines, and love them. While we build our house, I can sew even without electricity. … read more And, Janome has ingeniously managed to add an array of stitches that would make a normal straight stitch treadle machine green with envy.A motor can also be purchased separately for this machine, in case you want an electrical component until the grid goes down.Same Janome quality, in a machine that will function when others will not.
