Necchi Q132A Sewing Machine (Q Series) Review

I already have a solid computerized Janome, but it lacks punch and I needed a machine with more power to work with heavy fabrics. I came across a few reviews for Necchi machines, and eventually landed on the Q132A. As of my purchase/writing, there aren't a whole lot of reviews for this machine, but the ones I could find were all glowing (thank you to the handful of English sewists… read more who made videos showing this machine in action.)

I decided to take a gamble and ordered one, and I'm already impressed with its power compared to my other machine. On the day I got it I sewed a scrap of target and kept folding it to see the machine's limits. It sewed ten layers of target folded on itself beautifully, and didn't balk at all until I tried twelve. I think my Janome handles lightweight fabrics a bit better than the Necchi and I prefer its satin stitch too, but I wanted the Necchi specifically for heavy duty sewing since I have several projects coming up that will include everything from denim to upholstery velvet. I feel it will deliver, and I'm looking forward to putting it to the test.

Necchi Mechanical Sewing Machine

Necchi is a great machine

I have a Necchi that is over 40 years old. Unfortunately it was not able to be repaired. Since I had just great luck with this brand, i bought a new one. So far so good. Wish it would have came with a hard case, but i bought a case for it.
