I purchased this machine April 2021 for my birthday. Out of the box it had issues. Contacted seller and had to return for replacement. 10 months later and I love this machine. It is user friendly and many features that I desired but would have had to pay much more for the convenience from other brand names. I absolutely enjoy sewing on this machine, so easy to use. Day 2 experience: Switched to the straight needle plate, put feed dogs down, wouldn't come back up. Ended up doing a factory reset, which corrected feed dog problem but now get message "Set the Throat Plate, dropped out of position". It is definitely aligned, feed dogs where they should be, no lint, threading correct, etc. Can't get rid of error message unless I switch to the… read more standard throat plate. I purchased this model primarily for the switchable feature. Hoping SMP service can advise, but I sense future issues and I'm tempted to return.

I received the new Juki 4000qvp and was really loving the stitches and going through the screens and in general checking everything out. I tried. The drop feed dog button and they dropped but should not come back up. Now throat plate message wont clear.
