Great
I have been quilting about 14 years now. In that time I have had about 10 machines. still have 4 of those. About a year ago after owning 2 smaller Janomes that I take to groups. I checked our the MC6600P out but felt it was a bit expensive. Then Janome came out with a bigger more advanced model (?) and they reduced the price of the MC6600P and I jumped on it. I love the size of… read more the keyhold/pass though, about 9 1/2 inches. the sewing foot lift is in the back and does not get in your way in the keyhole, if you are quilting. My only grip is there is no audio signal when the bobbin is about empty. However, it is a dropin bobbin so if I just look once in a while I would not sew blocks with out bobbin thread. It has way more decrative stitches than anyone needs. I use the bridgeing ones for quilt binding. Love the even feed foot it is better than the one on my older Phaff who invented them. It is not a carry around machine weighting 40 lbs. or more I guess, but you can put the pedal to the medal and go on this old girl.
Love Love Love it!
Had a singer before but they are definitely not what they used to be. The quality of my work has increased ten fold with the MC6600. I got the showroom model when the upgrade came out. Since I got such a good deal, I also purchased the MC500E. Having a lot of fun with both!
Fabulous Machine
I love this workhorse. Its the best sewing machine I have ever owned. I also have the 7700, which I understand is the up grade, but I like the 6600 better. I also have the 15000, 3160, jem and the 500e. As you can see I'm a Janome customer to the end.l;
Janome 6600
I purchased this machine 3 weeks ago and I have fall in love with it. My dealer gave me a great deal and showed me everything it would do. It is smooth, quiet and dependable. Thanks for a great product.
Memory Craft 6600
I agree with the reviews...it's a mack truck with style. I've had my machine for 4 years now and it's been worth every penny paid and then some. I do a lot of sewing here of clothing as well as quilts and this machine holds up strong even with layers of denim and corduroy on our pants and heavy coats.The one slight disadvantage I had at first was the lack of a 'free arm' to make… read more stitching sleeves a bit easier. I adjusted my method a bit and it hasn't been a problem since! Even on small doll arms and sleeves.
Janome Memory Craft 6600
I bought this machine approximately 2 months ago. I love it for quilting - asolutely perfect..The embroidery portion (letters) I am having a problem with but hope to rectify this with store where I purchased it. The machine is like a mack truck...LOVE IT.
Dream Machine 6600
I am near 70 years old and have been sewing since I was 10. In Aug 2009 I bought a Janome 6600 and it is my dream machine, The Janome is by far the best sewing machine I have ever owned or sewed on. My only fault with it is the needle is hard to replace when one breaks or just needs changed.
