I have had mine for severa years. It is my go to machne for classes because of its light weight. It also has a great stitch. The Gold can do just about everything you want it to. I have had no troubes with mine. Treat your machines right and they will last a very long time.

I had my Jem Gold for 9yrs,and I took to class with me everyd time I went.It was a wonderful machine I learned freemotion on it and made 9 quilts pretty good for a beginner.I really miss it and I'm busy looking for a new lite-weight sewing Machine

I've now bought 3 of these

After becoming acquainted with the Jem Gold 660 in Africa, I bought one last year for my personal use. This year I bought 2 more for my children and grandchildren. This is a great little machine that sews sweetly and is light-weight. It works so smoothly that I hardly ever get out my old machine. I haven't found anything that I want to do that it can't handle. I bought this machine when it first came out. (1998?) It has been a work horse! I have used it continuously for piecing quilts and making clothes. It has perfect stitches every time and is easy to learn on. It has never needed servicing and I have just cleaned it myself. It is still going strong. spent a lot of time looking for a good basic sewing machine. coming up with janome jem gold 660 was the best answer for a starter sewing machine.the best idea janome came up with was the self threader, it really makes a big difference when you are making quilts. so you are not threading a needle the old way. the accessories are great too have bought what I neede with a walker foot/… read more 1/4 foot for quilting as well. the jem gold has excellent reviews with no glitches like other machine, well made, roundlight easy to move around! already made 1 quilt and started on another which is much bigger.

Have just started to use but love it. It's quiet and easy to use. Especially like the quarter inch foot. And it's light in weight. My friend has had hers for several years and it's still going strong. I have other sewing machines but this is so easy to travel with. I really love it.

A Great Machine!

I bought my Jenome machine after much research on the internet. It is everything that I hoped it would be. I love that it is smaller than a other machines, and it sews wonderfully--perfect stitches! I plan to use it for general sewing as well as quilting. I will recommend Jenome machines to all of my sewing friends.

Perfect Lightweight Sewing Machine

I just purchased the Janome Jem Gold 660 Portable sewing machine which is replacing the one that I gave to my granddaughter. I really missed not having the machine to do simple sewing projects like mending and sewing easy projects. I love the fact that the machine is light, easy to use and very compact. I do have a Bernina sewing machine which is quite heavy and didn't want to… read more have to lift the heavier machine to place on my sewing table.
