Great machine for intermediate level sewing!
This machine has everything I need after many years away from sewing. Two of my sisters have Janome sewing machines and love using them.
Very nice machine
Nice sewing machine to take to retreats etc. Lightweight.
I am still learning how to use it, but so far I am happy with it.
Very noisey!
Not happy with the CLUNK every time you step on the peddle and also not enough power when sewing across a seam with several thickness. Such as a triangle point. I really don't like the clunk sound.
Worst design I've ever seen
The 1st and a major problem is the stitch card. Who would put the stitches on a card that just sticks up on top of the machine. It's only held on by a little Holder thing. It constantly falls off but when it's there it's in the way. It keeps falling off and getting lost. I hate using this machine. It also doesn't have a full bed. It cuts off right behind the stitching so there's… read more no support for your project. I'd love to be embroidering some towels right now but my card has disappeared again. I'm sure it's in the UFOs on my table. Up until now I loved Janome. My last machine was a janome and I loved it. This is a design disaster.
Unhappy with this machine
I'm disappointed so far. I haven't had a whole lot of time to use it since we've been sort of busy with the hurricane and all but I expected more from Janome. My last one was the 5100 and it was a great machine until I wore it out. This time I wanted to upgrade a little. The decorative stitches are a real let down. That's something I wanted. I didn't have to have a lot they just… read more had to look good. For things like towels. The stitches are made from the bottom on this one. I can't see them until I finish sewing. And some of them come out looking nothing like they're supposed to. My old 5100 makes them better. And why did they put the stitches card hanging off the back like an after thought. I really feel for the lady who has children that think it's something to play with. I wish I knew how to show you a picture of what some of the stitches come out looking like. The I also hate that hate that half the machine bed is missing. Why would they remove the back half of the bed? I know it came with an extension, but you don't always need all that room for everything.
