I bought this because it was light-weight and portable. Portable yes, light-weight not so much. It doesn't do a lot of fancy things but is reliable when you need it. Get the extension table for it, you'll be glad that you did. This lives up to the Viking brand.

I bought this machine several years ago, and it didn't take long for the "automatic needle threader"to break. There is also no instructions in the book on how to move the needle position left or right. I had to go back to the store and have someone demonstrate that. This machine also balks if expected to sew through a couple of layers of denim, which I have never experienced… read more with other machines I've owned. If you're looking for a machine that will sew a variety of fabrics, look for another machine. I've nicknamed her "Prissy."
