Deluxe Motor Kit FM190 Review

The motor fit on my 1951 Singer 99K just fine and the motor seems to have good power. However I am having to push the foot pedal almost all the way to get it moving the needle, then it takes off at full speed. I am seeing if I can adjust somehow to make the foot pedal a little more reactive.

Small Design Gripe

The only complaint I have about the product is the foot pedal. The way the pedal works and assembly method require manual adjustment of the contact. It was already mal-adjusted when I received it and the contact was bent in a few places which means it goes from really slow to really fast with little actual travel. I will be fixing this.

The other issue was only cosmetic.… read more There were installation marks on the motor casing. Given the price I paid this is a non-issue but was not indicated as previously opened on the page. Did not affect rating.

Something I do like about it is that the wires are not molded into the connector. This means I can still wire in the light, route the wires through the cabinet, and or replace the power cord if necessary. I feel like this is the last time I purchase a motor for this machine.

Not for knee lever speed control, very good motor and foot control

Powerful clean motor and foot control. It won't work with the cabinet mounted knee actuated knee control on some Singer model 99s. If that is not an issue this is a really good deal to get your Singer singing again.

Its speed is tremendously fast and the foot is not pressure-sensitive, otherwise, it works well. Wish they had more information in the description before I bought it.

Shipping too high

I just installed this and have not tried out yet. The price is good except the shipping charge is a little too high and it ends up not such a good deal after all.
