Brother PQ-1500SL Sewing Machine Review

i BOUGHT A 1500 MACHINE. wOULD NOT free motion quilt. the thread broke and finally it would not sewing at all. A straight stitch it was fine but I bought it to free motion quilt.

Research and then buy here.......

I have 4 sewing machines, two which were purchased in the past 8 months from SMP. I researched machines for weeks and finally decided upon this Brother. After making 20 quilts I decided I wanted something more substantial than my cs6000i. I absolutely love my new PQ-1500SL. It sews so effortlessly and I love it for FMQ! daughter & I went together and purchased the Babylock "Jane", same machine!!!! this is IT!!!!!! walking foot and all for all those thicknesses in quilting...................unless you get a "Sailrite"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This machine is wonderful! Machine quilting has a lot of variables - batting, thread, fabric - and this machine seems to work well under all conditions. Because it's mechanical (rather than electronic) the machine settings can be completely customized. I do not have a stitch regulator on my machine, but I am able to produce consist stitching. The foot pedal is sensitive so the… read more speed is very easy to control. I have quilted large queen size quilts on my machine without experiencing difficulty with too much bulk in the throat area. I have used this machine for home decorating projects where I can put the 'pedal to the metal' and get those long, long seams done in no time. I have had my machine for over six years and with heavy use I have not had one mechanical problem. Sometimes....the operator is not paying attention however. Great machine!

PQ1500S

This machine is so easy to use and is designed with many features found on more expensive machines. Straight stitch only. Having a large extension table area and high throat makes managing a small or large quilt in free motion quilting a pleasure. Heavy weight with quiet motor even in high speed. I have been using the PQ1500S for four years and have not experienced any problems.

I ordered my dream quilting machine, paid extra for quicker shipping and after 5 phone calls and two weeks, I cancelled my order. Ordered the same machine on Amazon and saved $200.
