I've been sewing for years and have several Brother machines. This Pacesetter was purchased as a travel machine. Unfortunately it is not the quality of other Brother models. It's fussy over some types of thread with nesting in the bobbin area. The lift lever is very hard to use. As a basic machine it does a decent job but I would not purchase this machine again.

This is an incredible sewing machine! I just took up quilting and it sews through the layers like soft butter. Why did I ever struggle with pushing and pulling layers of fabric in the past?! Great price and so many different stitches to play with!

This machine has so many great features on it and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Its light weight and sews like a dream. I am a very experienced seamstress and have usually had to buy high priced machines to get this many features and quality results in a sewing machine. I am very pleased with it so far. It was a good decision for my traveling machine needs.
Lots of stitching space and easy to thread.

Has a lot of power to sew through several layers and no skipped stitches. Threading the needle is so easy. I love the thread cutting feature. The extra space between the needle and machine head is the main reason I purchased -- much room to position large projects.

Love this machine. Still have lots to learn but I was replacing my Brother PC-420 which I lost in the storm and could not find another one. This was recommended to me and I am very very happy it was. Love this machine.
