I love this serger, can't imagine using any other even over any thing Bernina could offer! I have had mine for quite a few years. I like the air-jet threading. That is just an amazing feature! The manual that comes with it is valuable and well-written. It comes with some very strong blades for the fabric cutting! Gosh, i really don't know exactly what to write but if you had… read more a question, you could ask. I have had mine over ten years and still works perfect!
This serger is aptly named, it Eclipses all other sergers!
I LOVE my Babylock Eclipse DX serger! While I have had 4 different sergers, this is far and away my FAVORITE! It is SO EASY to switch from one stitch to another, and changing the thread is so QUICK, and simple! With my other sergers, (Singer, EuroPro, Brother, can't remember other) I always dreaded having a thread break , because the lower loopers and the needles were so difficult,… read more fiddly, & awkward to thread, that I spent so long threading, that I didn't have time to actually SEW! Since I got the Babylock, I LOVE an opportunity to change threads, or change stitches, because I am so amazed at how simple and quick it is! I did not even know that the Eclipse had needle threaders when I had decided I wanted one, but as soon as I tried the needle threaders and the jet air, I was HOOKED!I can't think of anything about my Eclipse that I don't like, because it seems like whoever designed it had listened to all of the consumer complaints about sergers, and created a new kind of serger that avoided all of those problems. I think the high purchase price is probably the only thing I could complain about, but compared to the other sewing machines, it is very well priced, so I can't really complain about that either. While I have kept 2 other sergers to have stand alone sergers that are already set for one specific type of stitches, so far I haven't really used them, because they just don't have the ease of use, or the high quality of stitches that the Babylock Eclipse has. The Eclipse makes more even stitches, it feeds better, I don't have problems with the right needle somehow magically attaching itself to the thread already stitched, a couple of inches behind the presser foot, like my old Singer liked to do. I am so grateful for the relief of all of my serging stresses that I have enjoyed since I bought my Babylock Eclipse DX a year ago. I recommend it to everyone!
