Love this sewing machine! Smooth, easy operation and great directions come with it. A huge upgrade from the machine I first got 32 years ago and got this for a great price, too. It arrived on the exact day it was supposed to. I would recommend this machine highly as well as getting it from Sewingmachinesplus.

I found the threader hard to consistently thread needle. Other than that I am pleased.

I like it but........

I agree with Joy, I like the easy way to change pressure feet but the treader works about 1 in 10 times, so I just do it by sight.

Baby Lock Joy Is My Joy

While I am still learning the personality of this machine, I’m loving getting to know the ins and outs and the quirks. It’s very different from working with a computerized machine and it’s forcing me to adjust the tension using the foot pedal. So far, so good. I’m looking forward to finishing my craft room so that she can find her place in the space.

Best Purchase!

Every on line vendor says they are out! I walked into a "Stitched in Stone" store this morning and walked out with this machine! Realized, when I got home, I forgot elastic. Called to see if the had any. They said they were being cautious but would sell me 3 yards. I went back and they gave me 5 1/2 yards at no cost! Thank you Stitched in Stone!!

A Great Machine And a Few Suggestions

I love my new sewing machine. There are 2 things I would change, however. One is the needle that threads front to back. I can’t get the auto threader to work. My hand gets in the way and it’s hard to see with progressive lenses. The same thing happens when I try to thread it by hand. A right to left direction would be better.
The other change I would make is to… read more put the lever for the presser foot on the left side, freeing the right hand to manipulate the fabric, cut with scissors,etc.

Nice machine for the money.

I had a BabyLock Companion machine that I had for 27 years and I loved it. A gear broke in it and I couldn't find anyone who could repair it so I started looking for another Baby Lock sewing machine that was in my range for purchase price. This one had almost all the features my Companion had so I bought it. It is a very easy machine to use and so far I have liked all the features… read more that I have been able to use. I haven't used the fancy stitches yet but it sews quietly and smoothly. I would recommend it to anyone starting out or experienced.

I love my first machine!

I'm a beginner sewer and I bought the Baby Lock Joy as my first machine. I've used it a couple times so far and am really satisfied! Everything was really easy to figure out using the YouTube videos posted by the company. I'd say this is a great machine for other beginners to learn on like me. I'm excited to sew more!
